We work at Community Partnership (CP) in Divide. We have been receiving food donations at CP. In coordination with Teller County Public Health, Department of Human Services and Woodland Park School District, CP is preparing to serve as a clearing house, connecting family needs with resources through community volunteers. CP is the point of contact for free food for children during school closures.
Community Partnership Family Resource Center (CP) remains open Monday-Friday 9-4 to assist Teller County families with emergency support. Please call 719-686-0705 for assistance. Evenings and weekends- please leave a voicemail and someone will return your call within 24 hours.
NOTICE! March 22, 2020:
Families with children who received a Christmas Food Box from the Victor Elks Lodge are being contacted for another distribution this week. If you were a December recipient, and have a different contact number please contact Donna Brazill @ 719.648.2635 by March 24.

Additionally, I was on a call with Michael Conway, Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Colorado. Attached below are a couple of resource pages he asked that I forward. He also requested from a data perspective he needed actual numbers of businesses who have been denied their claim for Business Interruption Insurance. Anecdotally, businesses are not filing because they are hearing they will be turned down. Commissioner Conway said he needs the actual data of rejection to lobby further on behalf of the business community. If you were considering filing for Business Interruption on your policy and the "rumor" of rejection kept you from filing, please follow the Commissioners advice and file.

In these challenging times, we are honored to continue to serve our Teller County friends and neighbors. The Community of Caring staff and volunteers have witnessed and participated in an amazing outpouring of generosity from local businesses, casinos, volunteers and concerned citizens. Donations of thousands of pounds of perishable and non-perishable food items, private financial contributions, and a much appreciated $10,000 donation from Park State Bank have helped to mitigate the needs of our neighbors affected by the far-reaching impact of COVID-19. Please know that we are doing our best to keep as many services available to the community as possible while prioritizing health and safety at the same time.
· Our revised hours of operation are Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
· Priority services available are:
o Food assistance
o Unemployment information and support (for which we'd like to recognize our partner Pikes Peak Workforce Center & Community Partnership)
o Emergency financial assistance available on a case by case basis
o Ongoing community outreach and case management (including Senior Advocacy & Reassurance Calling)
o Clothes Closet is available on a case by case / emergency basis
· Teller County Department of Human Services, our stellar partner for over 18 years, continues to be available during Aspen Mine Center hours.
· TESSA's advocate is available with limited hours in the Aspen Mine Center, please contact them directly at 719-822-3033 to check on availability.
How you can help:
· Volunteers are needed both short-term and long-term as we weather the impacts. Call us at 719-689-3584 to let us know how and when you can assist. Likely duties will include:
o Preparation and delivery of food boxes
o Preparation for and support with commodities distribution this Thursday and Friday, March 26th and 27th.
· Donations of non-perishable food items such as canned goods and boxed goods (we currently have plenty of perishable items)
· Financial contributions to provide assistance to those affected by COVID-19
For updates or to donate financially, please visit our website at www.aspenminecenter.org or the Aspen Mine Center Facebook page.
Again, we are so very blessed to live in such a generous and caring community. Our thoughts and well wishes for all of our friends and neighbors in Teller County during these trying times.
